Bonnie Drury
History Teacher 1st - 6th Grade

Hello! My name is Bonnie, and I am so honored to be part of the Tandem community.
I’ve been married to my best friend, Justin, for 20 years. He is a Marine Corps veteran and has served in law enforcement for the past 15 years. Together, we’ve built a life grounded in faith, family, and service. We are blessed with a wonderful son, Jack, who is currently in 11th grade.
My journey in education spans over 20 years, working with children from preschool through 8th grade. I began my career as an aide in a special education preschool classroom and later earned my B.A. in Psychology. I’ve had the joy of working as a Montessori toddler/preschool teacher and have also served as a substitute teacher for grades K–5 in various school districts.
In 2022, our family relocated to Arizona. I currently teach in an after-school art program for grades K–5 and also teach science for a homeschool community program serving grades K–8. It brings me such joy to see my students explore, create, and grow—I feel truly grateful to be part of their learning journeys.
Homeschooling has become a special part of our family’s story. When traditional schooling no longer met Jack’s needs, we embraced a new path. Homeschooling has been one of the best decisions we’ve made, and it’s been a blessing to watch our son grow—both academically and spiritually.
Teaching is one of my greatest passions, but being blessed with the family I have makes this journey even more meaningful. They are my constant support, my grounding force, and my greatest gift from God. I am excited for all that lies ahead and thankful for the opportunity to walk this path with such a wonderful community.
