Hello! My name is Cortney, and I’m a proud third-generation native of Arizona, having grown up in the beautiful West Valley. I’m blessed to be married to my wonderful husband, Nason, and together we have three amazing children: Collin (15), Caden (13), and Claire (10).

Teaching has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a degree in education, I had the joy of teaching middle school in Litchfield Park for nine wonderful years. When the opportunity came to stay home and raise my son, I embraced it fully. Then, after multiple nudges from the Holy Spirit, I began homeschooling in the fall of 2017. Since then, I’ve been so grateful to teach not only my own children but also to share in the learning journeys of other families through various homeschool co-ops over the past seven years.

I am truly excited and honored to have the chance to work with your student at Tandem this year. I believe that art is a beautiful expression that comes in many forms, and I can’t wait to explore and nurture the unique creativity that God has lovingly placed in each child’s heart and mind. Together, we’ll encourage their talents and help them grow in confidence, joy, and faith.

And as Luke McElroy wisely says, “Creativity is ALL God’s. It’s from God and for God.” This truth inspires every step of our journey.
