Hello, my name is Marcela Garay, but many know me as Marcy. I was born and raised in California, where I lived for 23 years. My husband Elvis and I have called Arizona our home for 15 years. We have 2 amazing kids, Abigail (10) and Ethan (8), both are in elementary. As a family, we love watching and playing sports, traveling, hiking, watching movies, and participating in runs/races. Attending church, reading and learning the gospel, and putting our faith and family first are the foundation of our lives. We are truly grateful for the many blessings and opportunities God has given us.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and had the privilege of serving in the Arizona court system, where I learned the importance of communication, integrity and serving others. I have always had a passion for teaching and helping children learn, grow and reach their goals. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages in both public and charter schools, as well as serve in our community church.

Last year was my first year at Tandem as a 2nd grade aide, and I am honored to return this year as a P.E. teacher. I am excited to encourage and support your children in developing healthy, active lifestyles by teaching them the importance of movement, stretching, healthy habits, and caring for the bodies God has given them. My goal is to help your children build confidence, have fun, and develop a lifelong love of physical activity.
