Hello, my name is Rebekah, and I’m excited to begin a new year at Tandem!

I’m originally from California, and my family and I moved to Arizona in 2021 because we felt led by God to be here. Since the move, God has revealed to me that teaching and volunteering in elementary settings is something I truly enjoy. I began volunteering at my church and immediately fell in love with working with kids.

After some time volunteering, I was asked to lead Large Group—going up on stage and teaching the day’s lesson to the Pre-K and K–1st grade kids. At first, I was nervous, but within a few weeks (okay, maybe a few minutes!), I became comfortable and started doing well. It became easier each time, and to this day, I’m still leading and loving it.

I am excited to experience a different age group this coming year at Tandem. I’m currently attending college to pursue a degree in Elementary Education, and I can’t wait to start this school year—building new friendships with the kids and seeing all that God will do. I’m truly grateful to have been asked (and recommended!) for this position.
